Smyrna Fellowship Mission School
Sri Lanka
Greetings from Mission school children! Here are some News from Sri Lanka.
School is the best experience in children’s lives. As they enter into Smyrna school their lives change. Gradually, they enjoy school life in Smyrna.
They are different as they have been away from school for a certain time period. Although they have their own individual heart-breaking story.
Monday to Friday you can hear children running and playing in the playground. Smyrna premises are open for children to play and relax. Among all these, what they need is love and care. Without your generosity, Smyrna cannot stand for these children.
“Thank you so much”

Even though, Sri Lanka has a higher level of literacy rate, it is impossible to evaluate the prevailing education system as “extremely well”. It means that there are some dark systems due to specific reasons.
Among those “school dropout” is a serious factor which cannot be separated from the issues such as
poverty, unemployment, discrimination, role of the families, social values, welfare cycle, child
abuse, and drug abuse. “School dropout” can be defined as a student who leaves the school before completing the education for any reason other than death or without transferring to another school for studies.
Children who are in 5–14 years of age group considered to have compulsory education. But one can see children roaming among the villages or tea estates because of various problems in the families. Main problem is parents neglection.
